Lewis & Clark Metro Region Opioid Governance Committee

The Lewis & Clark Metro Region Opioid Abatement Governance Committee meets quarterly, as needed, to review regional applications for funding and make recommendations to the Montana Opioid Abatement Trust ("MOAT") Advisory Committee for final review and approval. Opioid settlement funds are exclusively for opioid abatement projects/programs.

The committee includes an elected representative from the Helena City Commission, Lewis and Clark County Board of County Commissioners, and the City of East Helena’s governing body, as well as two appointed community members-- a community member that resides in the City of Helena appointed by City of Helena Commission, and a community member that resides in Lewis and Clark County appointed by Lewis and Clark County’s Board of County Commissioners.

Notice of Funding Availability

Beginning in 2026, the Lewis and Clark Metro Region Opioid Abatement Governance Committee will review of grant applications twice a year as outlined in the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), which outlines funding priorities for the region and application guidelines.

  • Application deadline for Spring 2026 funding consideration is March 1st, 2026.
  • Application deadline for Fall 2026 funding consideration is September 1st, 2026.
