Mt. Helena and Mt. Ascension Trail Closures Intermittent During Fuels Mount Helena’s Ambrose Trail will open and Prairie Trail will temporarily close starting Thursday, August 14 as hand crews continue work thinning and pruning trees for a large fire fuels reduction project in the city’s natural parks. On August 21, the Beattie Street Trailhead, Pay Dirt and portions of Prickly Pear Trails will close for two days.
