Holiday Hours Revised Due to Presidential Executive Order

HELENA, Mont. — The President of the United States has signed an executive order to declare December 24 and December 26, 2025 as federal holidays. City of Helena holiday policy states:  “the list of recognized [City] holidays shall also include any legal holiday declared by the President of the United States, or the Governor of the State of Montana.” As such, please find the revised list of holiday hours for the City of Helena.

Wednesday, December 24

  • City Administrative Offices (including Utility Billing and the Parking Offices/Enforcement) – Closed
  • Municipal Court – Open until 2 p.m.
  • Capital Transit – Open, normal operating hours
  • Transfer Station, Transfer Station Admin. Office, and Trash Collection Services – Open, normal operating hours
  • Bill Roberts Golf Course & Muni’s Restaurant – 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
  • Civic Center – Open for scheduled events

Thursday, December 25

  • City administrative offices (including Utility Billing and the Parking Offices/Enforcement) – Closed
  • Municipal Court – Closed
  • Capital Transit – Closed
  • Transfer Station, Transfer Station Admin. Office, and Trash Collection Services – Closed; If your trash is normally picked up on Thursdays, please put out the container by 7 a.m. on Friday for collection.
  • Bill Roberts Golf Course & Muni’s Restaurant – Closed
  • Civic Center – Closed

Friday, December 26

  • City Administrative Offices (including Utility Billing and the Parking Offices/Enforcement) – Closed
  • Municipal Court – Closed
  • Capital Transit – Open, normal operating hours
  • Transfer Station and Trash Collection Services – Open, normal operating hours
  • Transfer Station Admin. Office – Closed
