The City of Helena’s Extreme Cold Weather Temporary Shelter Registration Program is a program designed to ensure individuals experiencing homelessness have safe sheltering options during periods of extreme cold weather. Its purpose is to ensure there are code-compliant facilities available during these extreme cold weather events. This voluntary program is being offered in partnership with United Way - Lewis and Clark Area and the Tri-County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) under their Helena Emergency Shelter Plan (HESP), which coordinates winter sheltering efforts across Helena.
