The City of Helena, in partnership with DB Utility, will begin replacing water meters across Helena over the next several weeks. The upgrades will improve meter accuracy, water system efficiency and long-term service reliability. The cost of replacement of the meters is covered by the City and does not have an additional cost to the homeowner.
Because meters are located inside homes, customers must schedule an appointment for replacement. A homeowner or adult age 18 or older must be present, and crews will need clear, safe access to the meter. Water service will be briefly interrupted during the replacement. Crews will carry a badge identifying themselves as DB Utility contractors.
Customers can schedule an appointment:
Over the next several weeks, project staff from DB Utility will contact affected customers by phone. If they cannot reach a customer, they will leave a door hanger. Customers are encouraged to respond promptly to avoid a potential temporary disruption of water service.
