Scam Alert: We have recently learned of a scam involving residents receiving text messages from an entity claiming to be the City of Helena, stating that they have unpaid parking tickets and must pay immediately. HELENA, Montana - The City of Helena Sustainability & Recycling office will host its annual Spring Latex Paint Drop-off event April 22 through May 6. Residents with a valid Transfer Station permit can drop off usable latex paint no longer needed. In turn, that paint is available for other residents to pick up for free. Paint from businesses or commercial haulers will not be accepted. Oil base paints, solvents, and other liquids are also prohibited. Those items should be air dried or solidified in sand, dirt, or kitty litter for regular disposal.
