City of Helena and Helena Public Schools Commit to Collaboration on Major Construction Projects
The City of Helena, Helena Public Schools and the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce have issued the following shared statement regarding continued coordination and collaboration on major public construction projects in Helena. The statement outlines a shared commitment to public safety, fiscal stewardship, clear communication, and delivering safe, high-quality facilities for Helena students and residents.
SHARED STATEMENT – August 20, 2026
Public schools and municipal government are two foundational pillars of our community, and the strength of their partnership directly impacts the quality of life for Helena residents. The City of Helena and Helena Public Schools take our shared responsibilities to public safety, fiscal stewardship, and the wellbeing of our children seriously. As we undertake one of the most significant public construction and infrastructure efforts in Helena's recent history, we are committed to working together, alongside the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce, to identify solutions, strengthen communication, and keep these important projects moving forward.
We recognize that the City has a responsibility to ensure facilities meet public safety standards and legal requirements, while the School District must deliver safe, high-quality educational facilities for Helena's students by August 2028. These responsibilities are complementary, and both are essential to serving our community.
Moving forward, we will maintain regular coordination between leadership and project teams, align timelines and communication processes, and provide timely public updates on project progress. Together, we remain committed to collaboration, problem-solving, and successfully delivering these projects for the benefit of Helena residents for generations to come.
