City Requesting Proposals for Traffic Signal Box Art

HELENA, Mont. – The City of Helena has released a call for artists to commission original artwork that will be featured on eight traffic signal boxes in the City. The request for proposals will be open until June 16.

The traffic signal box art program is a recommendation from the Helena Public Art Committee (HPAC) and is administered by the City’s Community Facilities Department. The HPAC is seeking a different design for each signal box. Selected artists and/or teams will be paid $500 per box design.

The following locations will be wrapped in artwork this year:

  • 11th Ave and Montana Ave
  • Montana Ave and Billings Ave
  • Montana Ave and Last Chance Gulch
  • Montana Ave and Tara Ct
  • Montana Ave and Custer Ave
  • Custer Ave and Interstate 15
  • Prospect Ave and Interstate 15S
  • Custer Ave and McHugh Dr
