Helena Municipal Court

Helena Municipal Court is part of the state judicial system and enforces laws for the City of Helena and the Honorable Anne Peterson presides. Helena Municipal Court processes all misdemeanor traffic, criminal and animal control offenses, city ordinances, orders of protection and civil cases that occur within Helena City limits.

Helena Municipal Court is located in the Lewis & Clark County Courthouse at 228 Broadway Ave., Helena Montana 59601.  The telephone number for Helena Municipal Court is (406) 447-8466 fax (406) 447-8265.  Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  You can also send your questions to Helena Municipal Court via e-mail and someone will respond within 48 hours.  helenamunicipalcourt(at)helenamt.gov

No Contact Order Information
Any alleged victim(s) of this offense that is not wishing to have a No Contact Order in place must file a request with the Judge.

Helena Municipal Court will no longer be contracting with AutoPay of Montana  

 

If you have been paying fines through AutoPay of Montana, you will now pay at Helena Municipal Court.

1. Contact Court by phone or in person to make your payment. 
2. Your payment for July was due the 25th.  If you have not made your July payment, please pay by phone to Helena Municipal Court or in person or appear at open court at 10 AM Mon., Wed. or Fri. ASAP to avoid a warrant. 
3.  If you have made your July 25th payment, your next payment will be due to Helena Municipal Court on August 25th.

Omnibus Hearing Information
The omnibus hearing is a hearing ordered by the court and held in the courtroom to have a face to face discussion of the issues of the case.

Orders of Protection are issued to promote the safety and protection of the victims of family member or partner assaults, victims of sexual assault, and the victims of other specific crimes.

The records request form must be filled out completely and the $10.00 fee paid in full to begin the record request. Please note that while we will do our best to process this request in a timely manner, it may take up to two weeks for a record search to be completed.
