Ten Mile


 The City of Helena will hold a public meeting on Monday, February 25, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the City-County Building Room 426, 316 North Park Avenue, Helena, MT 59623 for the purpose of obtaining public comments regarding the City’s planning efforts and preparation of a preliminary engineering report to address deficiencies in the raw water collection and transmission system that conveys water to the Ten Mile Water Treatment Plant located approximately seven miles west of the City of Helena.  The City of Helena will also seek the views of citizens on the activities that should be undertaken to meet the identified needs and to determine their relative priority.  The City may apply for state and federal funding from the Montana Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, Montana Treasure State Endowment Program, DNRC Renewable Resource Grant and Loan Program, and other funding sources to deal with: 

  • Repair, reconstruction or replacement of the existing Red Mountain Canal System,
  • Repair, reconstruction, replacement or improvement of the five existing raw water intakes located in the Ten Mile drainage,
  • Repair, lining or replacement of the existing Rimini Road raw water pipeline,
  • Possible construction of a pre-sedimentation basin to the west of the existing Ten Mile Water Treatment Plant,   

and would like comments or suggestions from local citizens regarding the system deficiencies, the phasing of the work items, and any other concerns which should be considered.  Comments may be given orally at the meeting or submitted in writing before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019
