    Warning - Dumpster Scam

Recently, Helena Authorities have been made aware of a possible fraudulent scheme. A dumpster rental company has been advertising on popular internet search engines as being a local dumpster rental company.  Though likely not illegal, it has cost citizens hundreds of dollars more for the same service.

Here is how it works.  When a member of the public calls this internet company for a dumpster rental, the internet company calls the City of Helena solid waste department and orders the dumpster for the customer.  The internet company is charging the customer 4 times more than it would have cost the customer if they would have called the Solid Waste Department directly.  The company keeps the difference.    This has resulted in several customers paying hundreds of dollars more for use of the same city dumpster.

If you need to rent a roll- off dumpster, be sure you are using the City of Helena or Tri County Disposal, they are the only roll-off rental services available in the Helena area. The following contact numbers will put you in touch with either. City of Helena Solid Waste Division 406-447-8082 or 406 447-8086 or Tri County Disposal 406-227-6300.
