HELENA, Mont. – The deadline for candidates to file for the City of Helena’s 2021 election is June 21, which includes candidates for Mayor, City Commission, and Helena Citizens’ Council (HCC). All candidates intending to be included on this year’s local election ballot must submit the filing form to the Lewis and Clark County Elections Office by 5 p.m. on June 21.
Along with the Mayor, Helena residents will elect two City Commissioners and 28 members of the HCC. The Mayor and City Commission seats are four-year terms, while HCC members are elected to serve for two-years.
The HCC serves in an advisory role to the City Commission on issues related to the budget and future development of the City. It is composed of seven neighborhood districts in Helena.
