City’s Annual Paint Recycling Event Starts Friday

The Transfer Station will collect usable latex paint April 30 - May 7.

HELENA, Mont. - The City of Helena Recycling office is pleased to announce its’ annual Spring Latex Paint Drop-off returns this week. Residential permit holders can drop off their usable latex paint starting Friday, April 30, through Friday, May 7. Paint can be dropped off during normal Transfer Station business hours - 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The Transfer Station will not accept latex paint for recycling after May 7. Residents are asked to only drop off usable latex paint. 

This event is open to residential waste generators with a permit. Material from businesses or commercial haulers will not be accepted. Oil base paints, solvents and other liquids will also not be accepted at the latex paint drop-off. Those items need to be air dried or solidified in sand, dirt, or kitty litter for regular disposal. 

Paint recycled during the drop-off event will be made available to the public at a later date. Dates for the free pick-up event have not been announced. For additional information, please call 406-447-8084.
