Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Grow Operations

Thank you for your interest in medical marijuana dispensaries and grow operations in the City of Helena.  The City is currently under a moratorium to allow medical marijuana dispensaries and grow operations to be open in the City until June 30, 2019.  Business licenses can be issued by the City at the City/County Building, with the understanding that the license will only be good through June 30, 2019 of this year.

During the time of the moratorium, the City Commission has tasked the Zoning Commission with determining what is the current public sentiment regarding where medical marijuana dispensaries and grow operations should be located in the City.  The Zoning Commission held a public open house on January 16, 2019 at the Civic Center to invite the public to comment on where medical marijuana dispensaries and grow operations should be located with or without restrictions.

The next step is for the Zoning Commission to hold a work session on February 12, 2019.  This will be another informal work session with the Zoning Commissioners.  During this work session the Zoning Commissioners will discuss the findings from the January 16, 2019 meeting.
