A: The meters are read with a radio read receiver monthly. The reading unit is mounted in a truck. The truck is driven through the city to read all meters. Each meter is identified by a dedicated ID number that relays read information to a host computer.

A: Yes, we can shut off your water at your curb box before you leave town. You can call our office to schedule an appointment. We will then record a final read on the meter. You will not be billed until the water is turned back on. There is a $75 charge for this service. You may also want to drain and blow out your water lines to be sure they are completely emptied of water. Contact your plumber for further information.

A: You can call our office at 457-8567 during normal business hours. We have a record of the location of most curb boxes. We can also attempt to locate your curb box on site for you; however, we can not guarantee they can always be located.

A: The home owner is responsible for the water service from the City water main to the residence. The City owns and maintains the water meters and the water mains.
