West Side Water Meter Replacement
It May Be Time for Your Meter to be Replaced
If your property is within the highlighted area of the attached map, your meter must be replaced between now and mid February, 2018. If you haven't scheduled your meter replacement yet, call 406-457-8567 ASAP.

In 2005 and 2006, all city water meters were replaced with new radio read meters. These meters contain batteries for distributing an electronic radio read. The batteries have a life span of 10 to 15 years and have been placed on a schedule to be replaced by city crews.
The new meters will still be read remotely, via a radio signal. The new water meters make it easier for us to provide more accurate, timely information to you when necessary, such as when a leak is likely. The can be read from almost anywhere in the city, providing more in-depth reading and diagnostic information.
Improvements have also been made to the life span of the battery in the new meters along with the radio read output strength. These improvements will also allow the city to make upgrades in both meter reading capabilities and customer service information in coming years.
The attached map identifies the neighborhoods we're addressing between now and late February.
