Tramp Truck Service

The Tramp Truck is a service provided by the City of Helena to Residential customers only. This service is funded by Solid Waste Assessments on Residential Property Taxes. Residents receive a $106.13 Bulk Solid Waste allowance for FY13 or 1.5 tons for self-dumping.  If a tramp truck request for service is placed, a $10 fee will be deducted from your Bulk Solid Waste allowance per call.

The City of Helena provides collection service for typical household garbage that does not fit into your container. This material can include bagged grass, leaves, branches, furniture, etc. This material must be bagged or bundled so that it can be easily handled by the collector. Items should not weigh more than 80 pounds. Tires, batteries, oil, paint, large appliances or hazardous waste cannot be picked up by the tramp truck. Branches or limbs must be bundled and cannot exceed 4' in length. Materials or bundles should be placed neatly in a pile in the generator's portion or the alley or adjacent to the generator's curb line (for street service). Collector cannot access private property to collect items. If the material does not meet these criteria, it cannot be collected. Construction debris from home renovations is not considered typical household waste and cannot be picked up. Other arrangements should be made to dispose of these types of waste.
