Helena City Commissioner Matt Elsaesser

Commissioner Matt Elsaesser was elected in November 2007 and is currently serving as the youngest commissioner in the Queen City's records.

Matt is currently the Executive Director of the S.A.V.E. Foundation, 501(c)(3), a non-profit dedicated to recycling, environmental awareness, and conservation in Helena and throughout the state of Montana.

Matt grew up in Priest River, ID and came to Helena to attend Carroll College in 1999. After graduating in 2003, he stayed in Helena, attracted by the Montana outdoors and active downtown neighborhood. Matt is a volunteer coach for Helena's youth climbing team, the Thunder Chickens. In his spare time, Matt can be found enjoying the Helena surroundings, skiing and rock climbing.
