Received a Citation from a Police Officer:
If a police officer for the City of Helena has issued you a citation and you would like a copy of the police report associated with the incident, you can request a copy from the City Attorney’s Office by clicking on the following link https://lcchelenamt.seamlessdocs.com/f/CityDiscoveryForm or visit the City Attorney’s Office to complete the Discovery Requests form in person. If you have an attorney, contact him or her to obtain a copy of the police report.
Involved in an Accident:
If you were the driver, vehicle owner, or property owner involved in an automobile accident, you can obtain a copy of the Crash Investigator’s Report from the Law Enforcement Center at 221 Breckenridge Street, Helena. You will be required to provide a photo ID and may be assessed a fee in accordance with City Resolution No. 20244. Fees will need to be paid in exact change or a check made payable to the City of Helena. There is usually a 2 to 4-day waiting period for the report to be available.
Victim of a Crime:
If you are the victim of a crime that occurred within the City of Helena, you can request a copy of the police report from the City Attorney’s Office by clicking on the following link https://lcchelenamt.seamlessdocs.com/f/CityDiscoveryForm or visit the City Attorney’s Office to submit a request in writing. Dissemination of the police report will depend on whether a person received a citation for the conduct and whether the case has been completed with Municipal Court.
